Hello everyone,
We would like to announce our entry for the 6th Stellar Build
Challenge with our remittance platform Stellar Fox.
We are currently a couple of software engineers working every day to realize
our mission. We want to build a complete seemless working solution for moving
money like email. Current project is on testnet and we have several items in our
backlog that will need to be addressed before we release a tag for livenet
deployment. Everything we code (so far) is open source and we plan on keeping
it that way. The following points represent our core values when it comes to
this project:
security
- do everything we can to prevent user from compromising their private key
- come up with a solution to equip each user with Ledger-like device or
enable accounts with an upper limit for small remittances with our Ledger
compatible, BIP-39 based mnemonic generator + PIN for transaction signing without
the hardware device. We are still debating pros and cons on this.
familiarity and ease of use
- make the platform in a way that the underlying technology is completely transparent to the user
- present traditional banking/remittance experience to the typical user
flawles beautiful software
- feature-rich platform that makes users comfortable with usage
- try to make the experience of sending money (probably for the first time
in the history of the World), actually fun!
As you can read in our roadmap we plan on adding
anchors for accepting deposits in Euro, Polish Złoty, Australian Dollar and Thai Baht as
our first channels for remittances.
Current Status
Not evrything you see on the UI is fully functional yet. To make payments please
ask Friendbot for some Lumens. We will accept deposits in Fiat currencies
and credit users with our tokens based on the currency they choose. For the demo
purposes we use Lumens as transfer of value.
For those of you who own Ledger Nano S, please take a look and play with the
current version. It allows you to register/use any BIP-32 path so you can
experiment with something down the hierarchical line.
We realize that this will exclude a lot of users at the moment, since Ledger
Nano S is the only option to use the platform but we are also working on a
solution for people who do not own/cannot afford Ledger devices.
As of right now you only have the option of using Chrome for this demo
as we have not gotten to fixing FireFox U2F with Ledger.
Please, stay tuned for upcoming documentation and tutorial videos that will be added
hopefully next week. You can also follow latest news on Twitter.
