Lamp is a peer-to-peer fiat exchange for Stellar Lumens (XLM).
Our aim is that it will be possible to exchange fiat for lumens, directly, using any payment method, anywhere across the globe!
The lamp exchange will be available at the domain xlm.sg
Due to being based in Singapore we can benefit from special features offered by the Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC) for .sg domains such as VerifiedID@SG and 'Registry Lock' that restricts any DNS record modifications without government ID verification. This protects against domain hijacking.
Why
#1 Currently in Singapore, direct exchange of fiat SGD to XLM is not available. Purchase via BTC or ETH then trading through exchanges is a multi-step, costly process that requires significant technical knowledge.
#2 To achieve mainstream adoption, xlm.sg believes that the purchase of XLM securely, directly and easily from fiat must be implemented. Likewise, the sale of XLM for fiat.
#3 Singapore is one of the major financial hubs of Asia.
Proposed Features
#1 Fully compliant KYC (Know Your Customer) and CDD (Customer Due Diligence) system
#2 Fully compliant AML/CTF (Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Terrorist Funding) system
#3 No wallet, users will transact directly from their existing wallet
#4 Native mobile client implemented with React Native and ClojureScript
#5 Web client implemented with React and ClojureScript
#6 Server API implemented on the Java Virtual Machine with Clojure
For entry into this build challenge, we are aiming for our first release prior to the Stellar Build Challenge deadline of March 15th.
Currently, we have only started publishing the Clojure SDK source code (a different supporting project), and the code for Lamp will follow in the weeks to come.
