Interstellar has partnered with Cowrie to offer Nigerians a new streamlined Naira to Crypto trading experience.
Even though Interstellar already permitted users to directly deposit and withdraw BTC, ETH, LTC and XRP, this is the first fiat anchor we are integrating directly into our platform. That's why this is so exciting for us.
Nigerians can now get instructions on where to deposit Naira fiat without leaving the Interstellar app.
Users who deposit Naira will receive the equivalent in NGNT, a Stellar based token which is pegged 1:1 to the Naira.
This NGNT token can be used to buy XLM or any other asset found on the Stellar Decentralized Exchange.
Users can also withdraw NGNT tokens directly into any Nigerian bank account, in less than 5 minutes, via Interstellar's withdrawal UI.
We believe this move will help Nigerians feel more confident trading Stellar and increase awareness of Stellar in Nigeria. Nigeria has a population of around 200 million inhabitants, based on the latest United Nations estimates.
