https://bitvolo.com is a new crypto payment gateway but unlike most existing solutions, it's completely trustless: the funds are sent directly from the buyer to your Stellar address.
You can make a test payment at https://bitvolo.com/test.php which uses our own Stellar wallets and makes an actual transaction on the blockchain and see what the process looks like.
Most payment gateways will ask for a transfer to their account and then will transfer it to the seller with the commission deducted. This solution is very old-fashioned, practically duplicating the solutions for credit card processing, including a percentage-based commission which has no justification in the world of crypto! With Bitvolo (currently 100% free to use while in the beta), we'll have a small fixed commission of 5 cents (CHF 0.05), independent of the transaction amount.
There are indeed other cool solutions where you purchase the payment gateway code once, install it on your website and then also accept payments to your own address. These are better but have the disadvantage of potential technical problems with connecting to 3rd-party nodes. We operate our own Stellar nodes which is very important.
Only the best and most modern cryptos are supported: Stellar and IOTA (and soon Nano) which carry no fees for the buyer and are very fast for a great shopping experience. The prices in the web shop can be listed in XLM or any fiat currency, conversion to XLM is done at checkout. Integrations at this point are: Javascript integration, API, WooCommerce, Planyo, but more will be coming in the next weeks.
