The CNDY Ecosystem
With the CNDY ecosystem your local trade association or organic food market can create a digital local currency to support local businesses.
NOTE: This is a resubmission of an SBC #6 honorable mention.
Description
The intention of the CNDY (pronounced "candy") ecosystem is to provide a safe and easy to use alternative to local currencies, currently often just paper coupons.
With white labeled (upcoming), easy to use mobile apps and detailed insights of the currency usage and adaption, CNDY goes way beyond the possibilities of traditional paper coupons.
The technical difficulties of creating an maintaining an asset on Stellar (like the required initial funding of an account for your customers) are abstracted away, while keeping the transparency of the Stellar blockchain.
The CNDY ecosystem consists of multiple open source applications:
- The CLI abstracting away the underlying blockchain operations of creating custom assets and creating, trusting and funding new keypairs for customers.
- Mobile Wallets for Android and iOS, so customers without experience in the cryptosphere can trade and pay by simply scanning a QR code
- The Analytics Dashboard providing a convenient JSON API to access statistics for your custom asset collected from the Stellar Network
We've progressed from CNDY SBC#6!
Mobile Clients available
With our mobile clients available for iOS and Android, we've elevated our proof of concept to a real world beta on the Testnet! Almost 20 users of a Frankfurt based company are using CNDY on a daily basis to pay for coffee, tea, nuts and sweets!
See it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKPy9VRpWP8
We're working towards a world were you don't need to aways have some change in your pockets when you want to satisfy that sugar craving on the way to your desk.
Use CNDY to pay for your candy! People are also starting to get creative, having ideas about how to use the coins as some kind of KUDO coin to apprechiate the daily work of their colleagues.
Improvements of the Analytics Dashboard
A lot of things happened under the hood, including a pretty good test coverage on our analytics backend. It enables you to track the status of the CNDY consumption in Frankfurt in real time on cndy.store. Furthermore, it's now possible to select specific time ranges to filter graph data.
Talks with local trade associations and organic food markets
We're currently in contact with a trade association of a small town in Germany who'd be happy to replace their coupon based currency with a digital one.
Furthermore, we've established contact to a regional organic food market, who's managers are also interested in incentivizing their customers to support local businesses more.
White label apps
Our goal is to make introduction and adaption of local currencies as easy as possible. Therefore, we're about the introduce multi-asset support in our Dashboard, as well as white labeled apps for the different local currencies. This helps making the onboarding process even easier.
