Africa, especially Nigeria has seen an explosive growth in personal finance savings management platforms, which have helped the under banked attain some sort of extra financial edge that banks have greatly neglected.
We want to take it beyond that, and give Nigerians and Africans extra financial power, in micro investment. It is almost impossible for an average African to invest in stocks or bonds, but the decentralized market of cryotocurrency would open all Africans to opportunities that was previously closed to them and invest in the future.
It is no news that cryptocurrency adoption is a slow process, what we envision is making this transition seamless.
With Peppement, anyone can register, link their card and set aside little amounts of money daily or weekly to use in purchasing digital currencies by harnessing Stellar blockchain.
How we are building our solution?
Each cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ether, etc) is represented as a Stellar issued asset so users have the flexibility of investing among available assets, just like swapping cryptos (which is already paid in fiat). This provides (with the help of Stellar) faster transaction and cheaper fees. By default users funds are held in Stellar Lumen and its the bridge, medium of exchange and transaction in the platform.
How it works?
Users sign up with their social account, create a wallet, link/add their debit card and create an investment plan (crypto, duration and amount).
How far long is the project?
A complete live beta is ready and transactions on stellar accounts runs on Stellar public net.
In the next few weeks we hope to run live transactions from users, and in the nearest future build a stellar smart contract that executes trades (buy/sell from the DEX exchange) on behalf of users to mitigate loss in investment.
Edit: We are now on live beta. No longer on test net.
P.S I still can not figure how to embed images, I have screenshots I want put here.
