Hi all,
With hundreds of transactions per second, is network propagation a problem in Stellar? If SCP takes 5s for a slot - how do nodes communicate so quickly? If I'm not mistaken, there are a few rounds of chatting: (1) nomination of txs for a slot and (2) voting.

How do txs propagate through the network, only through quorum slices or to all peers?

You can do several rounds of messages back and forth within 5s with TCP so there is no magic there.

Right now txs and SCP messages are flooded to the whole network. So yes at some point this will be an issue but this can easily be changed to work in a different way . How the nodes get the messages is independent of SCP. The idea is to implement a more optimized overlay network once the traffic demands it.
