Project Title : Non-Custodial Marketplace Platform for Stellar without Fees or Middlemen Summary : Easy-to-use non-custodial marketplace platform that lets anyone earn Lumens and other Stellar assets via bounties, services, and jobs while helping to crowdsource Stellar projects. Goals: We're trying to create an global p2p gig economy for Stellar. Not only are we the first gig marketplace platform for Stellar, but we're different than the traditional ones. Existing marketplaces charge high fees (20%+ of earnings) and try to be the exclusive middleman between clients and freelancers. For example, they are disallowed by TOS to contact or transact outside the platform. In contrast, Cgig is an open marketplace with no fees. We help match clients with talent and encourage them to communicate however they want to, while enabling the use of Stellar assets as digital cash for their transactions. Cgig combines the best features of traditional marketplaces to create a truly peer-to-peer commerce hub while leveraging the p2p payment features of Stellar. Note to reader: We started with a working project (Fiverr marketplace). And since our initial SCF submission, we have added more features and 2 new marketplaces- Job and Bounty. Bounty marketplace for all Stellar assets- anyone could earn Lumens or other Stellar assets while helping Stellar projects (e.g. testing, creative design, translation, social media marketing, etc...) Fiverr for Stellar- a marketplace where anyone could easily start a shop and sell packaged services (e.g. Logo creation, web design, writing etc...) Upwork for Stellar- a job bidding marketplace where anyone could post a job request and bid on job requests with their proposals. User portfolio showcasing their projects and skills for prospective clients. Allows clients to contact users for additional types of gigs. Create a directory of skilled talents and merchants that accept Stellar assets as payment. Uses Stellar assets for direct peer-peer payments. Description We've always been fascinated by the possibilities of Stellar assets being used as decentralized cash for peer to peer payments. So we thought it would be good for Stellar to have marketplaces that revolve around Stellar assets. The most obvious type of marketplace that comes to mind is freelancing/crowdsourcing. Other cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum and BCH) already have these and people use them. Service Marketplace Bounty Marketplace (Beta started 06/16) Besides its main marketplaces, Cgig comes with a lot of auxiliary features, including: User portfolio showcase In-app chat and notifications Tipping Order management Milestone support (for jobs) Reviews and ratings Federation addresses for payment tracking We've thought and researched quite a bit on how to make a freelance marketplace concept work for Stellar and decided to first focus on the core, which is helping Stellar users who need skilled help discover those who could provide. Our marketplace is truely peer-to-peer, which means client directly pays freelancer, which also means that freelancer keep 100% of their earnings. In comparison, existing freelance apps take 20% or more of earnings. We provide different mediums for mutual discovery, which includes gig-based listings, freelancer profiles, and bidding based project postings. We also provide tools like order portfolio showcasing, order estimation, activity monitor, and reviews to facilitate these transactions without being in the way. We'll be using Keybase to establish for identity proofs. We will also provide a way to associate a Cgig order with a Stellar transaction, which could be referenced by review/feedback left for the freelancer. We've seen the direct peer to peer model work quite well for small-medium sized gigs (e.g. logo design, writing tasks, programming help, etc...), especially if the freelancer already has an online reputation (e.g. design firm, public profile, work history in other platforms, etc...) For very large tasks that cannot be broken into small milestones, escrow may be a necessary evil. For that we're exploring ways to facilitate a multi-sig escrow transaction with a mutually trusted third-party selected by the client and the freelancer. Link Web App: Cgig Our Motivation: Medium Post Anything Else We started development after the last SBC. So Cgig is a completely new project and is built on top of a custom stack. We love building things but we also want to build the right thing. So please if you have any suggestion/feedback they are always appreciated.

Major app update- We have developed a new (second) project-based bidding marketplace (similar to Upwork) that is fully integrated into Cgig's workflows. Users could easily switch between this and the service-based marketplace. We've also implemented context based navigation to make it easier to work with different marketplaces. Anyone could post a project with their requirements, budgets, etc...: Interested freelancers could then submit bids with their proposals The client could engage with each submission separately and track work associated with each engagement. Workflow management for both client and freelancer roles have all been implemented. As always, questions, comments, and feedback are greatly appreciated!

App Update: Implemented Stellar Federation protocol for user accounts. Users could now send payments to <receive_user_id>*cgig.app Stellar wallet address is now required at registration and is bound to the account. User profiles now show all suitable assets for payments based on trustlines from the user's Stellar wallet. Currently some stablecoins are whitelisted. If there are any tokens in particular you'd like to see, please let me know These assets are now also displayed as payment options at checkout, with the appropriate market price conversion based on order total.

App Update- We have implemented user portfolios and reworked the user profile page. Prospective clients could check out the projects and get an idea of the quality and skill level. They could then contact the user for job marketplace proposals, gig offers or consulting requests. Development Update- The third marketplace for bounties is coming along. We envision this as a hub for people to help Stellar projects while earning Stellar assets. Like the other marketplaces (services and jobs) on Cgig, it is non-custodial, on-chain, and support custom Stellar assets. I don't have much to say right now, but you got my vote for a reason. You made good progress so far, but I think making a Stellar account mandatory on signup is not a good move because you can then market it to Stellar users only.

citystates Thanks your feedback and support. We'll definitely revisit this aspect. The reason we chose to make Stellar account mandatory on signup is because the app makes heavy use of federated addresses, not just to resolve wallet addresses but also to track invoices, bounties, etc... for statistics. Users who are funders only technically should not need to provide their account but there are social aspects of the app like tipping and bounties that everyone could participate in. Most non-custodial marketplaces I'm aware of are tied to a specific blockchain (mostly Ethereum). Our plan for now is to focus and optimize for Stellar, hoping that if we could build something that's really easy to use it would compel more users to try Stellar. We'll do something to ease the flow to new users without Stellar accounts. But yes we are kind of also betting that Stellar would take off enough to become a serious competitor to Ethereum in the area of payments.

dandalion98 Then I would suggest to try and create and fund accounts in the background if the user doesn't have one. This is our approach with City States, that nobody is held back to play because they need an account first. It also opens up to educate your users about Stellar as they use your service. For accounts created by you, you could just hold the private key in custody until the user is far enough to create his own, maybe fund it with his first XLM earned on cgig 😀

I really love this! Opportunities to work/earn/barter for crypto are few and far between. I am unbanked which means I can't use exchanges so I have an enormous appreciation for all things p2p!

The Bounty Marketplace is now functional and open to beta: https://cgig.app/bounty We've posted some bounties related to Cgig to show the possibilities, but anyone could post a bounty with any type of Stellar asset. As a project creator, you could use it to crowdsource testing, coding/bug fixing, social media marketing, creative design, etc... Because the marketplace is non-custodial, users receive payments immediately upon award and funders don't have to worry about losing their tokens to an intermediary. The bounty UI is designed for transparent discussion alongside work submissions. It could be used to ask questions and resolve ambiguities in the funder's requirement or request revision on a work submission. All Stellar payment transactions are tracked and displayed in the UI. For extra flexibility we've also added tipping functionality in case a work submission is really good and deserves extra love. All bounties are collaborative- meaning anyone could award or add on to anyone else's bounty and anyone could tip a particularly helpful response. For custom Stellar assets, the app will check to ensure that a user has the proper trustline set before participating. Custom assets also link to its Stellarport exchange dashboard so users could check its liquidity before participating (this an issue with Ethereum bounty platforms) To DirkP's suggestion, we've removed the requirement to provide a Stellar account at signup to reduce friction. Instead users will be directed to set their account at the time they start participating in bounties. We're still committed to being fully non-custodial. For new Stellar users without an account, we're thinking of funding a New Stellar User bounty that activate their account with 2XLM (any proceeds we get from SCF will help with this). To prevent abuse, it will require linking their Cgig profile with their Keybase identity (this is work in progress).
