Hi all, I'm wondering how many people here have founded start-ups before and how many of those are familiar with the stress that's involved in the process of raising pre-seed and seed capital. With the recent meteoric rise in the value of the Lumen, I thought it would be a good idea to raise the topic of the creation of a fund for startups that is built solely on XLM and is focused on qualifying startups that use the Stellar blockchain whether strictly for fintech or otherwise. What do you guys think of the idea? I'd love to hear your thoughts and your feedback on how this could be accomplished and how it could be managed. -hatter

hatter I think it's an interesting idea, but I don't see how this could work in practice. As you said, running a startup and searching for investors is a headache. How would raising Lumens solve this?

You would still need to convince investors that your idea is going to make money. But now you also need to worry if the price of Lumens is going to crash and how much money are you going to end up with. How are you going to report this income to tax institutions? You will probably still need to pay your employees in fiat, so you will just end up exchanging everything for USD/EUR/... Why not raise USD in the first place?

It has a romantic feeling, you are building on stellar and rising lumens. But apart from this it doesn't give you any practical advantage.
