Hi bkolobara. Thank you for commenting.
bkolobara why not just make an USD anchor?
There is a real need for micro-payments (in the "penny" or "sub-penny" range) for the gaming industry (in-game purchases) and also in AI2AI (artificial intelligence) and oracles data access payments.
bkolobara This looks like an unnecessary detail that makes it hard to calculate prices.
We thought of that and implemented a CENTY write-it, spell-it, send-receive-it protocol that eliminates the need for complicated conversions from cents to dollars or otherwise.
Ex: WRITE: 12.34 U$D = 12*34 CENTY.
Ex: SPELL: "Twelve star thirty four CENTY".
Ex: SEND-RECEIVE: 1234 CENTY
bkolobara Is it just a way to differentiate yourself from other USD anchors?
In a certain sense yes... 🙂 BUT, in a "larger" sense, we also plan to develop CENTY as a "brand". And CENTY-brand sounds way better then "another Stellar based USD anchor-brand" 🙂
Ex: CentyRide - Uber clone D'App with no fees for drivers (Uber is charging drivers up to 40% of the ride cost)
Ex: CentyBay - eBay clone D'App without the 2.9% + .30 U$D PayPal fee per transaction.
Ex: CentyBNB - AirBNB clone D'App without the 20%-30% AirBNB listing fees.
