MazasisAugustinas Hello. I'm completely new to crypto and yesterday I tried sending some Stellar to my friend but accidentally included the wrong memo and the transaction didn't reach him. What should we do in this case? Is it possible to get my funds back?
earrietadev I assume you sent money to an exchange because of the memo. If the public key was correct then the money is in the exchange's account. Send them an email and show them the transaction code as a proof, they should be able to find it in their records and give your friend the funds
MazasisAugustinas Where can I find their email? I've tried looking into Stellar contacts but there is no email. Only community hubs.
bkolobara MazasisAugustinas It's probably easier to resolve it from your friend's perspective. They should just open a ticket with the exchange/wallet they are using.
MazasisAugustinas bkolobara He tried contacting Coinbase (the wallet he wanted to receive the crypto). But they told him that they couldn't help and also told him to contact the merchant or exchange we were working with. So I assume that they were talking about Stellar.
earrietadev MazasisAugustinas if the wallet you where trying to send the money to was a coinbase wallet and a memo was needed then the only one who can help your friend is coinbase because the money is in their wallets. Check you wallet using https://stellar.expert and look for the transaction you made, if the account you sent the money to it's the correct public key (coinbase's wallet) then they need to give your friend the money after you and your friend provide the transaction id
