Lumens to any email address - information needed

Hi,

I am a developer who very recently got interested in blockchain (what an amazing technology!). I came across stellar lumens and I really like the project and would like to get involved.

Could I please ask if there is anyone already working on the 'Lumens to any email address' application? If not, I would love to work on it and would like to enter the next Build Challenge.

If anyone would have any information whether such a project is already under way, please let me know. If not, I will publish a proposal and will start working on the app.

If I understand it correctly, July 30th is the deadline for submission to the next Build Challenge? By deadline, I mean the project should be up and running and ready to be judged?

EDIT: Started reading a bit more on this. Maybe a good idea would be to start with building a Federation Service first to get my feet wet with the technology and then as a second phase build the sending lumens via email on top of that... The description doesn't specify it, but I would envision this as a mobile friendly web app (that is also the technology stack I am most comfortable with).

There are a couple different implementations of this already, in various forms. I've got it working in Stargazer, it's also implemented in Saza and my_wallet. Sacarlson released his federation service as open source, I was planning on doing so too.

You only really get the full benefit of it if you use it inside a wallet application.

Thank you very much for your reply @dzham! I see now how a web application just for federation is probably not very useful on its own. On the other hand, all the neat use cases I considered (such as transferring funds via sending email with text 'send 100 xlm to ...') would require me to store the private key for the account and I am not sure this is a good idea.

I'll toy with this idea a bit more... maybe I'll be able to come up with something interesting...

yes as dzham stated I create my version email funds to anyone that integrates into my_wallet at the receive end but can be sent from any wallet that supports standard stellar federation. Optionally the link in the email when clicked will auto re-key the funds so they can not be taken away from the receiver but in the event the email is never received and the link never clicked the sender can have the anchor return the funds to them. see: https://github.com/sacarlson/stellar_federation_emailer for details and other features
