This is not the first bitcoin giveaway. Last time (4 Billion giveaway) only a fraction of bitcoin holder actually claimed the lumens. It had 0 impact on the price, I would say it even went up. I honestly don't think there will be even 3 Billion claimed. But all this advertisement about it will raise awareness of stellar and the price will maybe go to the moon. Who knows, right? To me it looks like many people are shorting Lumens and are trying to spread some kind of panic posting all over the internet "SELLL 16 BILLION, PANIC!". The stellar fundamentals still hold, no reason for panic.

It will not destroy the price, even if half the pool was claimed.

before giveaway price will go down for x % (already happening) and then parabolic up...usually this scenario happens in real world but this is crypto :)....a dont give my till 2019 :)

I think we should divide it for everyone who has been with stellar since the beginning. Not people with BTC.

The point is. 100 bitcoins, say 250.000$, receive 100.000 lumenst that at current price is 5000$. Imagine some of the bitcoin holders sell.. and price goes down... I think almost nobody with 250.000$ in bitcoins will care about 5000 or less $. These giveaways has a second effect, unused giveaway lumens will go to stellar.org. And i dont think they will sell as crazy. I see it fine, they are making a nice work and i belive their aim is not to became "more" rich. For that they could simple use ripple. There are inner things in stellar design i was thinking about a long time and now it is real. It will have a future. Dont worry about that.

last time send out free lumens the price is very lower but now is difference if str price grow btc value equal to current btc price + free lumens price so str will not grow too much maybe will have some drop

I will hold my stellar, and buy more if it dump more That s all and i will try to contribute to the project It s now opportunity to accumulate

I think it'll drive the price down but it won't be devastating. It'll last a day or so.

I dont think it will be that big of an impact. Not many bitcoin holders will put in to get stellar. Its good marketing

I think it will only hurt the price temporarily, but ultimately holding is the best decisions, look at what happened with byteball. People sold on distribution and now they regret it greatly.

I think if Stellar really has the potential and future, it should not be a problem. If it's good people ll use it then the price ll maintain at a good level
