bkolobara There is a specific timestamp to distributes the Lumens to the inflation addresses, it is not depend how long you point . I run it every 5min to save the history file（Use for analysis） , and it's also a easy way to statistical the voting.

Inflation is paid out weekly based on the amount of Stellar you have in your wallet. If you have more you get more, less you get less, none you get nothing. In that sense it's like interest.
