Garth gave me a good idea for a stellar trading game. I forgot I already have a testnet version of stellarterm running on our funtraker.site server so all we need to setup a game is provide funded testnet accounts to anyone that wants to enter the game that will last maybe 1 to 7 days for each game. Everyone gets the same amount of start money say 10,000 XLM to start. I will also setup one of my bots that will auto buy and sell orders that are the same prices as seen on poloniex.com that will be used as our data feed to real BTC prices vs XLM. These are the same bots I now run on our real network only in this case they will run with testnet fake funds for the game. So in this first game we will only trade 4 assets STR, BTC, USD, ETH. later games we can have the bot trade 6 or more assets at the same time to add a bit more complexity and reality to the mix.
I can deliver the pre-funded game testnet accounts to each contestant with my_wallet with URL links that will auto re-key to the first person that clicks each link. I can setup maybe 10 prefunded accounts on this first test run of the game. I'll also setup links to stellarterm that are the active traded asset pairs in the game.
The winner of the game will be the account that ends up holding the most value of USDT that will be recorded as a snapshot of all players accounts at the end time of the game.
The winner of the challenge will get real XLM payout of say 100 - 1000XLM. Funds on the first game will be from me personally but later maybe donations or grants from others will be used in future games.
Maybe in future games there will be an entry fee of 20 XLM to enter that all goes into the winning pot?
Basic rule would be you can't receive funds other than from the original game funding and from trades. no sending funds to another player to help him win. This can be detected in the ledgers so don't bother to even try.
I have create a slack channel https://stellar-public.slack.com/messages/C5VBFE35Z/ on slack. there anyone that wants to joins the channel just says "I want to play" I can PM them there with a my_wallet URL with the funded accounts. at the slack channel. I will also provide the start time and end time of each game and at the end provide everyone the results of the game in the slack channel.
I think this game will help teach people how to use the same real stellar trading tools at the same real prices as seen in real life without taking any real risks but still have a reward at the end to add real motivation to win.
