Why Stellar lumens?

Hi everyone. I just subscribed. I have not bought any stellar limen coin yet but would like to get some feedback. Why did you choose to buy? Will more banks adopt this in the near future? What was the history between the ripple and the stellar limen developers? What are your personal prediction of this currency? Thank you.

If you do some research on the project you will find a lot of information yourself. My advice is to search deep and hard before buying yourself into any crypto currency, and only with money you can loose, and then I mean, completely!

He was very succesfull with a lot of his projects, started ripple later and then left to start Stellar. Only because of this guy and his Rep I would say Stellar has a bright future. I think he aims to make global payments very easy and accesable for everyone around the globe, and if you take a look at the wallets for example, you see that it is very user friendly. I believe in the dev team, all very clever people and I believe in their idea behind Stellar. Their technology is an improvement of Ripple. So far they had no news out but you can imagine that it will be huge (look for example at ripple lately)

I think crypto is the future, many coins will came, many coins will go in the upcoming future. But with the dev team and their idea's, I think we will see Stellar increase in value as more people will use it (that is what the give a ways are for! ) :)

There are a number of reasons I have personally invested into Stellar, in no particular order:

The Ripple and Stellar frameworks are forks of one another and historically we have seen that when one does well, the other does well too - I can't see that changing anytime soon in the near future

However, recently, we have seen that STR is able to stand by itself and its value has strengthened independent of XRP and my view is that STR is onto a bullish long-term path with very substantial upside potential!

Jed McCaleb is without a doubt a very smart guy! There are some rather negative posts on the internet regards the fiasco between Ripple and him etc. but I'm willing to give the guy a chance especially because of point 4 below

I sincerely love the idea of helping the under-privileged, unbanked people of the world. It would be a shame that we only think of enriching ourselves at the expense of others. The concept of Stellar is in direct opposition to Ripple’s world view (that of collaborating with the elite of the world and enriching the already rich). To me, the Stellar Foundation has some beautiful ethical values that I can fully support! Who doesn’t want a more equitable world where the poor are elevated and wealth can be re-distributed to a degree while at the same time elevating our standing also?

I unreservedly believe that banks, financial institutions and medium to large enterprises will come on-board in adopting Stellar in the near future as they see the world progresssively move towards digital assets (for example, L'Eco).

It is estimated currently there is approximately $60 Billion invested into the entirety of the crypto world. This figure is expected to rise to about $3000 Billion within the forseeable future. So any investment into alt-coins with substantial real use-cases such as Stellar will have tremendous uptrend in the medium to long-term

Lumens also have very low fees and the transactions are really fast. For me, it is better than bitcoins, but lumen is relatively unknown and you can't use it as a normal currency, while bitcoin is accepted in more and more stores. I hope this will change and lumen will become mainstream.

And dont forget.

Stellar lumens dont require to burn tons of energy, (i dont care if they use solar, that solar energy could be use to produce water from the sea) We live in a resources bounded world, we cant be this stupid to waste that amount just to transfer a token.
