Buying Lumens in UK

Hi, everyone.

I am new to the concept of Cryptocurrency, Lumen and new to this forum. Need help/ suggestion / advice from the experienced guys here.

I have started a new Stellar account and need to fund it with 21 Lumens for activation. I Iive in UK and can find no exchange that will accept Sterlings to sell me Lumens. The one site I could find is useless- don't answer the phone or emails. I seem to have hit a wall at the first step. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Welcome :) If you're buying a small amount you could use Changelly (https://stellarcommunity.org/t/changelly-now-support-stellar). Accept debit cards etc. but there are fees if you're buying using a card.

Another option is using something like Coinbase to buy bitcoin, then send that bitcoin to Polo and exchange it for lumens.

For the uninitiated that seems like a lot of extra expense in fees and a long winded way to pay a few £s and against the very purpose of Lumen i.e make international money transfer easy and cheap.

Your best bet it is to get your hands on bitcoin first, then it's easy to get lumens. The thing is, there aren't any good exchanges that really accept GBP lodgements directly so you'll get hit with fees from your bank more than likely to send euro lodgements.

I am not able to accept that I have to convert my GBP to Euros to Bitcoin to Lumen. That way the investors money goes through three currency exchanges and dependent on the spread and fees at every step. It's way too expensive. I'll keep my eyes opens to find a way for direct person to person transfer. Thank you for your help.
