  • We want to partner with anchors on stellar

We are building the application using Stellar and were trying to understand and link with Anchor. We wanted to understand the process we would require to incorporate operations into the application and leverage the Stellar network.

Shouldn't Stellar be an open marketplace for assets issued by anchors? Shouldn't you be able to buy and sell assets from anchors that are convertible into the real-world asset they stand for without asking and without partneering? Why would someone want to "partner" with an anchor?

(I know there are infinite motives a company may want to partner with another company and this may be one of those, but I guess the main reason one would have to partner with an anchor is already mostly made unnecessary in the Stellar network.)

I don't understand (honestly, I'm asking someone to clarify this for me).

In some cases it makes sense to partner up. E.g. I want to run an exchange on Stellar, but don't want users first to go to the Tempo's website for EUR deposits/withdrawals. I want the on and off ramp to be my website.

@siddel1 Be more specific what you expect from this partnership. Maybe explain what values you will provide to anchors and what do you expect in return. Partnering up is such a broad term.

[unknown] thats probably wht we are gonna go with due too the difficulties in communication you have been a great help my brother maybe i should just write u directly nxt time lol

bkolobara "I want to run an exchange on Stellar, but don't want users first to go to the Tempo's website for EUR deposits/withdrawals. So you're a remittance service that doesn't do any actual remittances?

I know there have been discussions about discoverability of anchors, but right now you have to deal with each anchor separately, interfacing with them and any eventual APIs. Most of them probably don't have any APIs for deposits/withdrawals, cash-in/cash-out, KYC/AML.

I understand the value you provide to your users, but what value do you provide to the anchors?

dzham we appreciate your input but it was absolutely useless the value we give to the anchors and the extant of a proposed partnership would be a discussion that would be had with the parties involved. lets not focus on formalities and focus on bringing constructive critisium and fresh ideas on the underlying technology and implamentations behind each project we shouldn't comment just for the sake of commenting.

siddel1 I thought my input was quite valuable, but happy I could waste some of your precious time.

Anchors won't bend over backwards to cooperate with services like yours. If they haven't thought about plugging themselves in to remittance services already, there's a lot of NRE ahead of them.

The constructive thing to do would be to try to devise a protocol for cash-ins/cash-outs that would work across the board, for any service/anchor.

dzham now that information is useful and something we can defenitly use, now we are getting somewhere i knew u had it in you just had to squeeze it out lol but thanks i will definitely look into that idea.

[unknown] The statement i posted wasn't understood clearly which was evident in the comment to say we don't do remittance is 100% untrue u would have to use the application which is going to be made available the end of the week to come to that conclusion. the inquiry wasn't a technical one it was purely for business reasons which is why i kept it short and and included my personal email as we felt it wasn't the place to have those discussions

[unknown] to the point of how long I've been on stellar u shouldn't assume the day i created my first thread as the day i got on stellar I've been following stellar for quite some time now i was fully aware and knew @dzham is a judge its written on the build challenge page in bold letters right under judges so that has nothing to do with my longevity

sb_ this information was invaluable helped me solve alot of issues i was having
