Hey all, why has Poloniex not updated the ticker symbol from STR to XLM? This seems important considering it's the main source of liquidity/volume for the Lumen. I'm wondering if the upgrade to the Stellar protocol resulted in a fork and now STR is from the old chain and XLM is on the upgraded chain (similar to ETH/ETC). Is it possible they would have to credit holders of STR with the same amount of XLM? I know Stellar isn't a PoW blockchain, but I'm not sure how the upgrade to the network was handled via exchanges. I've contacted Poloniex to update the symbol and have not received a response yet. I just figured this was important for new people as they learn about Stellar (protocol) and Lumen (native currency).
STR ticker symbol on Poloniex
Yeah I wish they would change the ticker symbol. I bet if people keep asking them they will do it

I asked them now multiple times and opened tickets with them about it. But no luck so far.
After contacting coinmarketcap they changed it in a few hours from Stellar to Stellar Lumens.
I think Poloniex is the only place not wanting to change.
Same here. Asked them several times and they said it was not their priority...
Just wanted to update everyone that I got a reply from Poloniex and they are supposedly working on the issue. Here is the response I received from them.
"We have plans to update STR ticker to XLM, however changing a coin ticker on the site is not as easy as it might seem. Rest assured we are working on getting that updated as soon as possible."
