Lost my xlm

Set up Stargazer wallet. never saw the seed words, I though did set up a password. I then transferred from Bittrex 20K xlm's. I do have the public address to which the xlm's were sent along with the transaction numbers. I won't get into the whole story but I had a hard drive issue that required me to replace my hard drive. When I restored, I could not see my xlm's and again the only information I still have is that which I just mentioned. Would appreciate any help out there. I know those xlm's are in the block chain sum where. All this happened over Christmas.

Actually it was 23999. Bought 24k after transfer to the wallet had only 23999.

What's the public address where you sent the XLM?

I had the same issue happen and did same as you. Set up Stargazer wallet on my desktop, never saw the seed words, but did set up a password. I transferred XLM from Bittrex to Stargazer; transaction was successful. Came back to Stargazer app ... did not ask me for password. Account balance was empty. I have my Stargazer public address that I used in sending from Bittrex and I can see the transaction on StellarChain.io using this public address. But can't figure out how to recover. I was thinking this was a theft.
