Queries for developing on Stellar

I'm working on a small blockchain project on decentralised Identification for Crypto.

We originally planned to ICO with an ERC20 and to develop on Ethereum, but stellar seems more attractive based on speed and scalability, also you can program with Java, javascript, etc...

We have to resolve 2 issues to consider the switch to Stellar:
1. You can't do mintable tokens, nor there is much flexibility in customising the ICO.
2. To store data on the ledger it seems to be quite expensive, we know that Stellar was meant to be for payment, but without data storage it will kneecap our post ICO development.

Would appreciate any thoughts on those above issues.

If "mintable" means that a token doesn't have to be issued at one time only, then that's how assets in Stellar works by default.

dzham How do you include IPFS hashes in your transaction?
MEMO_HASH accepts a 32-byte hash in hexadecimal format (64 characters).
Thats not what a hash in IPFS looks like..

Or did I get something wrong?

dzham By mintable means created as contributions are collected., i.e Everytime an Eth is contributed, the contract creates X tokens and send back to sender, this for the duration of ICO. No need for manual reconcillation.

Qm...-multihashes in IPFS are SHA256, so the 256-bit hash could be extracted and used directly if you need things to fit in a memo.

If not, use data entries to store a hash with the account instead of with the transaction.

dzham mhh did you try this by yourself? The IPFS Hash is to long for any of the accepted memo-formats.. what exactly do you mean by "extract" the SHA256 hash?

If you have a IPFS-multihash that starts with Qm..., base58-decode it, and use the 256-bit hash directly as a MEMO_HASH

Gotcha.. That's how Stellar assets work by default.
