The wining mechanism works on a separate instance of the game a user can access when they are logged in. The user gets Lumens credited to their account when their ship blows up another user's ship.
You have a great point! If you make an account there are instructions on the user dashboard, but there should be clearer instructions on the demo for users that are not logged in. I'll update that.
