Memo for transferring Lumens from Koinex to an Empty Wallet

I am willing to transfer XLM from Koinex Exchange to Stellar Desktop Client to activate my Stellar wallet. But I am being asked to put Memo and I don't have that. I searched in Stellar desktop client but I didn't find any Memo to receive XLM. Kindly help. Also suggest how many Lumens need to be transferred to activate my Wallet?

You don't need a memo for sending to an account that you have the private key for.
Memos are usually used for exchanges to tell what user a deposit is for, since everyone shares the same account.

dzham Thanks for response. Exchange (Koinex.in) is asking me to provide one. Without Memo I am not allowed to send XLM. My Stellar wallet is not activated yet due to that.

In that case, just write anything at all. It doesn't matter.
