We regret to announce that effective immediately, the Lumenette mobile wallet is no longer supported.
You may still use the Lumenette App to transfer to other XLM addresses, and still have access to your secret keys. However, our servers have been turned off, and we no longer support sending XLM to new users by email / text.
To reiterate this important point - if you are an existing user, (1) your funds are safe, (2) you still have access to your keys, and (3) you can continue using the Lumenette app to send to other XLM addresses.
We want to express a sincere thanks to all of our initial users, many of whom helped us with bug reports, and offered incredibly valuable feedback.
We are shutting down primarily for compliance reasons, and growth / costs.
Our goal was to become an anchor, and represent a variety of assets on the network. This is extremely difficult to do in the United States legally. We received legal advice, and did not feel comfortable even fully integrating with an existing anchor. Lumenette was a side project for our team, and these concerns were too much to overcome. Unfortunately, maintaining Lumenette as a project is simply not worth it to us.
Lack of growth - despite great feedback by the community (particularly on Reddit), we have found that people are simply not using Lumenette as we had hoped, as a means of transferring Lumen to new users. Addditionally, our costs are high - we don't have a way of making money as a simple wallet (and can't build a business as an anchor, for compliance reasons). The costs of our services are simply to high to justify maintaining. Additionally, we don't feel comfortable passively leaving Lumenette on, as a side project that we don't monitor routinuely.
Open Source - Hopefully some good news - we have decided to open source the application code at https://github.com/ndreckshage/lumenette . We hope that this gives other developers a chance to learn about building a React Native application / crypto wallet, and can hopefully give someone a jump start on building a wallet for Stellar.
