Reminder!

Two sections of the newsletter need your help!

Calls for Participation: are you the maintainer of an open source project looking for some help? This is a good place to advertise beginner friendly issues. If you are interested in this, please leave a link to your project in the comment section below.

Featured Project of the Week: every week I will feature a project from the Stellar Ecosystem. It is not much fun if I just pick these projects myself, so I have created a submission repo on Github. If you are interested, checkout the submission link here.

Random number generator over the entire pool of entries at the time of publishing -- random.org for true randomness.

We actually had a function like that in our code base for years, although it returned 10, IIRC.

... Well in fact I also registered to get featured but ...

Do you honestly think that featuring only a couple of applications among 35 is a fair ? Right in the middle of that contest?

In itself, the idea is good, but at that very time... Hm...

The dev digest doesn't link directly to the SCF post on galactictalk and since it's so new I think most if not all subscribers are already aware of the SCF. But I agree that it should be considered in future rounds to not promote participants at the end of the SCF.

Particularly next week during the Reddit votes, I think it would be better to just summarize each participant - or to talk about a project that is not involved.

@MisterTicot this is a good point and a valid concern. I have been trying to never actually mention SCF in terms of a project, never distinguishing a project as something that is vying for SCF.

I also really like the idea of covering every project, but as someone who is doing this totally voluntarily, and on the side, I do not have the time to accurately and properly cover every project.

So to be fair, next week I will make sure whatever I feature is not an SCF project.
