Transfer Lumens from Poloniex

I just purchased some Lumens (STR) at Poloniex. How do I transfer them to my existing Lumens account at stellar.org? I tried to transfer using my Stellar public key as the address but Poloniex said address was invalid.

Any help most appreciated. Thx.

Do you have the public/secret key for your account?
Are you using the account viewer to access your account?

I just sent Lumens from the account viewer to Poloniex and back without issues.

When I submitted my Stellar Public Key on this page it gave me a page of JSON that had my public key and my correct Lumens balance. So it appears my Stellar account is all correct.

I then tried again at Poloniex. I put in my Stellar Public Key. Then a memo. Then the amount of Lumens I wanted to withdraw and clicked Submit. The it said "Invalid Destination Tag"?

Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks! Cheers

Public key. Never give your secret key to anyone!

I left the memo field empty. I guess the memo.id should be a number. Maybe you are entering something else into it.

EDIT: Just to make it a bit more clear. There are different types of memo fields. Poloniex only allows you to use the ID type and this needs to be a number. On the account viewer you can use MEMO_TEXT to have a short description of the transaction, but not on Poloniex they only allow you to add an ID to your transaction.

If you are transferring FROM Poloniex you can just keep it empty.

Also when you are transferring Lumens TO Poloniex you need to choose MEMO_ID and NOT MEMO_TEXT or Poloniex will not automatically credit your account.

What value are you using as a memo?

bartek I assumed the memo field was where I put a little text describing the transfer. So my memo is something like "Transfer lumens to my stellar.org account."

It seems you're saying the memo field needs to be something specific? What needs to go in the memo field? Can you give me the details?

Yeah, bkolobara is right. Memo.id should be a number. Try leaving it empty or type 0. Not sure why Poloniex requires Memo for withdrawals...

bkolobara OK, I was pretty sure it was the Public Key but just wanted to check.

I'm trying to withdraw 108 lumens as a test. I kept the "Memo.id" field blank and it said Over Withdrawal Limit error. I think 108 lumens is less than a penny or some very small amount.

Then I put "1" in the Memo.id field and got the same Over Withdrawal Limit error.

I sent a pic of the error to Poloniex.

This is turning into way too much work to just make a simple transfer. sigh

The message is quite clear. You need to try again tomorrow because you reached your daily limit. We can't help more here, you need to contact Poloniex.

My first deposit/withdrawal experience with Poloniex was also frustrating and I needed to open a ticket to get it sorted out. So I understand you.

I was withdrawing 150 XLM and I believe you can withdraw less than this. Maybe something is wrong with your account. I would contact the support, they are usually fast with their response.

Also on top of this page:
https://poloniex.com/balances

you can see your daily limit. Something like "$xxxx.xx remaining of $xxxx.xx USD daily limit". It can be that you are over your limit.

Also check the profile page:
https://poloniex.com/profile

to add more verification levels if you need to withdraw a bigger amounts.

After I managed to withdraw something the first time everything else was smooth afterwards.

Yes you have exceeded your daily limit. You have to wait 24hours.

Ahhh! Yes. I wasn't looking carefully enough. (smacks forehead) I got the first level of Poloniex verification and then the transfer went thru fine.
