TLDR; I want to make buying Lumens with fiat currency easier for people who aren't crypto-savvy.
I recently became aware of Stellar and its potential and decided to buy a bunch of Lumens. I've been a software engineer for > 10 years now, and while not anything like an expert into the crypto space, I would consider myself pretty tech-savvy.
In my journey to buy Lumens, I was surprised that I had to navigate different exchanges, crypto currencies, read up on how to trade efficiently and the associated transaction fees. For me, this was do-able given some time.
I met up with my Dad a few days later and explained (as best I could) what Stellar was, how it operates and how it was looking to change how financial systems operate. He loved the idea and wanted to buy some Lumens for himself, as an investment. After explaining how he could do that, it became painfully obvious that there was absolutely zero-chance that he would be able to do that on his own.
I have read into what becoming an anchor would involve, and I think this is probably beyond my reach at this time. So, I figure instead of becoming a fully fledged anchor, I can build a web application that takes card / bank transfer payments, uses an existing exchange (GDAX/Kraken/CEX etc.), to purchase BTC/ETH/LTC, convert those funds into XLM and deposit them to a wallet for the user.
It would make buying Lumens easier for people like me, who are able to trade but don't want all of the manual steps listed above, and also make buying Lumens accessible to people like my Dad.
Before I get started on the project, it'd be great to hear some feedback about whether this is something that you think could work; and what potential pitfalls you can see.
Thanks!
