Lumenscan is a ledger explorer for the Stellar network that allows you to explore and search the Stellar network for Ledgers, transactions, operations, accounts, assets.

Timeline:

We believe the project can be completed in four milestones:

Designing the pages (Done)
Implementing the pages in a static manner (Done)
Injecting Stellar Horizon API and implementing the structure and database and server architecture (Done)
Developing the project, add new features and increasing its performance based on feedback from the users and developers (In Progress)

Note:
In the future, Lumenscan will become more independent. For example, our tokens page and know addresses are based on the stellar.expert API but soon we will implement our own API.

Description:

How important is a blockchain explorer?
Almost every user interaction on the blockchain ends up in the explorer. That means, to check transaction status and balance, users need a blockchain explorer. Filtering, analyzing, and making sense of these heaps of data requires an engaging interface that does not frustrate the user. By developing an intuitively designed explorer, we can ensure that users have satisfying interactions with the Stellar Network and feel much more secure.

Does Stellar need a new explorer?
Absolutely. All major blockchains have several explorers. This lets users choose the one that they prefer and leads to more competition among development teams, which is, in turn, good for the users and the platform.

How can Lumenscan help Stellar?
When a blockchain fundamental tools are built by adhering to modern user experience principles, they can attract a wider community of users to the network.
These tools will help engage users that used to working with large payment networks such as PayPal, Visa, and Stripe, and propel Stellar to a leading global payment network,
Stellar already has a powerful core, and it can benefit from equally powerful design and user experience. Some signs indicate Stellar is ready for a significant upgrade in that area, like the recent logo and website redesign.

What tool did we use to build the Lumenscan?
To build this explorer, we used, React.js, Node.js, Stellar Horizon API and Stellar.expert.

What are our team's future plans?
Our primary objective is to develop and maintain Lumenscan.
We have detailed plans for the future to gradually roll out better and more robust features based on user feedback.
Eventually, we will build a complete and modern explorer based on user feedback.
Our team will develop a suite of other tools including a (desktop or extension) wallet in the future. Based on research and our skills, we are confident that we can contribute significantly to Stellar.

Logo concept
The Lumenscan logo is a crossover of two symbols:
(1) a smile, which is a sign of a joyful life around the globe.
(2) a cat, which is a beloved pet that everyone can relate to and remember.

The Stellar federation protocol is now supported in Lumenscan, you can search your federation address in Lumenscan and see it in the account detail page.

UI and UX is great and cleanly implemented but add more detail in token page like the list of holder and list of operations.

Why not do a mobile app , that can scan public key (GD..) and QR CODE to research account ? We have enough Ledger explorer online and I can Search for stellar account in some bitcoins and Ethereum explorer

Hi Justin Thanks for your feedback, I don't understand your point, but our software doesn't need a mobile app because it's completely responsive and you can easily add it to the apps on your phone by tapping "Add to Home Screen" on Google Chrome.

Did you search Stellar addresses in the Bitcoin explorer?
The Bitcoin explorer tracks events on the Bitcoin network, not on Stellar.

Thanks for your encouragement. , we agree that the assets section needs more work so that users can easily find valuable assets. We think asset rates must be assigned based on only the trade volume. Rating based on the number of payments and the number of trades is wrong because issuers can easily generate spam transactions, For example, it's incorrect for DRA to appear on the top of the list on stellar.expert.
As we mentioned in the proposal, in phase 2, we'll implement the assets and favorite accounts sections using our own API.

Hey! This really looks great. Most eye-pleasing Network explorer I came across so far. Keep up the good work. Love your artistic instincts.

One thing I noticed is that the font changes from browser default (Times New Roman?) to "Inter" during page load. It displays the serif font for like a second, and then, once the CSS is applied it switches to Inter. I'm probably a bit pedantic here but it looks a bit glitchy to my eye. You can probably solve that by setting Inter as global font in the <head> tag and then it will be used instantly while the page renders and before all the JS callbacks are applied.

I think this is really cool. Design was clean and new features were creative and helpful. Would there be an option to create an account with login? (I saw that you can save and customize addresses) Also if you can it would be neat down the road to be able to customize what appears on your home screen as different users might value individual data differently; having it on the home page would be a convenience for quick reference. Good job

Thanks for your encouragement, about saving accounts for the privacy of all your information is stored locally in the browser and in the future, you can easily retrieve all your data with a JSON file by clicking the import and export button on the watchlist page. We have to talk to our team about how to customize the home page, I haven't seen the feature in similar apps, and need more discussion.

none of these explorers have performed well and nor have they been able to meet the basic user needs

What basic user needs are not being met?

eliminates the shortcomings of previous explorers

What are those shortcomings, and what are you doing differently?

TFA has zero information. It just says that "something" was wrong before, but now you've fixed "it", without saying what that something was.
