Build Challenge: send lumens to an email address

Hello everyone,

I came across Stellar as a technology a few weeks ago, and have been doing quite a bit of reading about blockchain and its particular applications in the case of stellar. After seeing the build challenge rules/guidelines/suggestions, I thought the idea presented at https://www.stellar.org/developers/guides/things-to-build.html#lumens-to-any-email-address seemed pretty cool, so I'll be cracking on with this.

One thing that wasn't exactly clear was one of the requirements around mentioning the idea on this conversation space - is this to check that somebody else hasn't already implemented it? I've done a quick search of the tags and can't find that as something that's been picked up by anyone yet, so hopefully I'm following the right procedure? Any feedback would be welcome.

The idea behind creating a thread is exactly this! To share your idea with others and see if someone is working on a similar project, collaborate and get feedback.

bkolobara I started working on this challenge too. I saw an existing implementation that requires 31XLM minimum to send and think I can reduce this minimum to 1 XLM by creating a temp escrow account then merging that with a new account the recipient would create. Would that be a valid entry for the challenge or should I be building something else?

It's been done a bunch of times already. Inside wallets, by federation servers.

justrossthings I can't give you a confirmation if your entry is valid, as I don't work for Stellar.org. I'm talking from my previous experiences with the build challenge. Just to enter the challenge is not enough, if you don't have any users your chances of winning anything are low.
