Problem exporting my Stargazer account to a new wallet

Hi. Has anyone had any experience using Stargazer to hold Stella Lumens? If so can you help with a problem I have please? I have a Stargazer account loaded with Lumens and had to have my computer wiped and reinstalled. Before doing this I created a QR code of my account and can access the key in it via a QR reader. However, the QR code opens with {"stellar":{"account" and then a load of code and I can't find anything that starts with S to indicate that it's my PK. I used a Password when I originally opened my account. I'm needing to know how I can use this QR code to export my account and Lumens into the new wallet? Any help would be much appreciated as I am worried that I cannot reinstate my wallet and Lumens.

If you used password protection the private key is encrypted. Remove password, and try again.

dzham Dude, can you help me out? I am at a similar scenario, used Stargazer to keep my xml years ago, and back than I had a Secret Key or something similar to that. Now Im trying to acess my wallet, but nothing happens when I try to import it. Back then there was no QR code option.

As my computer has been wiped and I'm starting over again as it were, is it possible to remove the password if I can't access my original wallet? Would appreciate your advice.

If you have the QR code, then scan that with Stargazer, that's what it's for.

I've tried that and get a PK that doesn't start with 'S' - I guess it must be an encrypted version as when I type it in, it doesn't allow me to activate it to retrieve the account. It seems like a chicken and egg situation - I can't activate my account without the PK which is encrypted on the QR code because of the PW and I can't extract the encrypted key unless I can access my original account to deactivate the PW and create another non-encrypted QR code! Have I got that right? If so am I scuppered as my computer with the original account has been wiped or is there something else I could do? Again all the help I can get would be appreciated.

smartnsue I think what dzham is trying to say is that you should be able just to scan the QR code, not type in. Doesn't matter that it is encrypted. Once you scan it you are going to be able to remove the password. But maybe you can only scan it by installing Stargazer on your phone. I didn't use this wallet for some time now so I'm not sure about the exact process.

I have a similar problem with stargazer wallet. I have previously saved secret key of the wallet, which starts with "S" symbol. When I type this key into new wallet on another computer I`m getting an empty wallet with 0 balance. Can anyone help with this issue?

What does it look like on any of the blockchain explorers?

E.g., stellarchain.io, stellar.expert, steexp.com

If it's zero there too, then someone stole your funds by hacking you or phishing you

dzham Hello, I am in a similar situation. I was using Stargazer 1.6, until I reinstalled windows 10. I reinstalled Stargazer wallet 1.7 and I recovered my wallet with my account seeds, but my account has zero balance. I have tried to send some lumens to reactivate my account, but it could not receive any lumens too. What's the point with the seeds if I can not fully recover my stellar wallet? I did not know about the secret key or have the QR code, so I did not have them back up. How do I recover my lumens? Any advice is appreciated. 😅

I installed Stargazer at a time when all that was required is a password. I still have the password but can no longer view or retrieve my lumens. I have version 1.7 on my Windows 7 desktop. My computer was cleaned and I had to reinstall the wallet. At some point I did get a public key, which I still have but no user name or any other keys. Can you help please?

Try import your lumens account in Stargazer 1.7. Type in your public key and hopefully it works. It was frustrating for me too, but luckily it worked by importing my secret key. After that, I converted all my lumens to Bitcoins. No ones seems to know the answer and no support whatsoever from Stellar.org. Good Luck! 😀

The password was there to encrypt your private key. If your files are gone, your private key is gone, unless you made a backup of it yourself.

dzham Thank you for your reply. I found my old account, version 1.5 and my Lumens are still there. I tried to send them to a different wallet but Stargazer won't respond to the send key. Any suggestions? This is the most disgusting team of programmers I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, you would think if they put a wallet out there that they would at least tell the users how to use it. So what's the procedure for transferring my lumens to a different wallet? I have quite an investment, and I'd hate to lose it in transfer. This should be a simple procedure!

Dude, there's no team, it's all just me. I have a family, a home, pets. I like cooking, going to the gym, spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, etc. I don't like providing tech support to ingrates, and people who think I owe them something just because you downloaded software I wrote, and you paid nothing for.

cogwheel -> advanced -> export account -> fuck off.

Or, you know, just upgrade to 1.7.0, since earlier versions doesn't work after Stellar changed their servers.

dzham I totally deserve your reply. I cannot apologize enough to you, please forgive me! You have been a great help to many people, I can see that. I'm really trying to figure this one out. Maybe my next question will be more rational and I will be oh so careful with my words.Again, I am so sorry that I was so rude. I did upgrade to 1.7 but still not able to send out. I'll keep working on it.
